Three different car accidents claimed five lives. The accidents took place in Brooklyn and Queens yesterday. One car crashed into an elevated subway column and killed two people in Brooklyn, authorities said.
Naquana Kilpatrick, 25, and Gilberto Howard, 17, were driving a Honda Accord when it crashed into the stanchion at Atlantic Avenue and Buffalo Street in Brownsville. The police said that the accident occurred just after midnight. Two other passengers were injured in the crash and no crime was charged.
A speeding car driven by Warren Davies, 35, went out of control and and ran into an empty truck killing himself and his passenger. The car was a 2008 BMW and the accident took place on Avenue D near Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie.
A short time after the Brooklyn crash, a car went into a guardrail on the L.I.E. and then plunged into the Flushing Meadow Park. The car burst into flames and exploded. The driver is still unidentified.
