Christopher Scotto, a 26 year old Hampton Bay resident was driving drunk early one morning when he struck 3 pedestrians walking in the same direction. Southampton Town Police report that the accident occurred on Dune Rd. in Hampton Bay, NY. They have not made public what caused the driver to strike the 3 Suffolk County residents, or what his BAC (blood alcohol content) was at the time of the accident. (New York State has a zero-tolerance policy for drinking while driving.) The three victims were taken to local hospitals, one having to be transferred to Stony Brook University Medical Center. Southampton Police have not released the severity of the injuries yet. Scotto was held on a $50,000 bail and is facing a DWI charge. Other charges are still pending.

Two young Queens men were drag racing in Bayside, Queens NY when their cars collided. Queens County Police report that David Badalov, 18, was racing his Lexus against David Babayeva’s, 17, BMW down Francis Lewis Blvd. in Queens when Baldalov lost control of his automobile and hit Babayeva. Unfortunately, 12 year old Avi Amenov was in the backseat of Babayeva’s car when they collided. Amenov was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center; located at 177 Fort Washington Ave, New York, NY 10032. The drivers of the automobiles did not have serious injury, but were also taken to the hospital for examination. Both of the drivers were charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, speeding and assault. Badalov also faces a charge of driving without a license. They will be arraigned in Queens County Criminal Court, located at 125-01 Queens Blvd. Kew Gardens, NY 11415.

A car accident took place on May twenty-second, 2009. The crash took place in Rome, New York.

On Thursday night, Robert Williams Jr. was driving his motorcycle when he crashed into another vehicle. He passed a dump truck and then suddenly crashed into a car that was turning left into a driveway. The driver of the automobile allegedly had his turn signal on. Williams, 40, of Whitesboro was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson. Sherry Moulton, 40, of Oriskany, was a passenger on the motorcycle during the accident.

The driver of the car and his passenger suffered from small injuries after the crash. Both Williams and Moulton were thrown off of the motorcycle after the crash. Unfortunately, both of them died later on. Williams died at Rome Memorial Hospital while Moulton died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.

A Manhattan man and his fiancé were involved in a horrific car accident on the LIE in Sunnyside, Queens, NY. Kenneth Forkey, a 25 year old actor and model, was riding in a yellow cab with his 24 year old fiancé on their way to La Guardia Airport when their taxi crashed into a parked truck. They were on their way to Florida to visit his parents. Queens County Police report that the taxi had turned off on to the service road near Greepoint Ave in Queens when the crashed into a truck that was parked so the driver could sleep. The young couple, taxi driver and the man in the truck were all rushed to the Elmhurst Hospital Center. The injury Forkey sustained was fatal. Forkey’s fiancé was in a coma. Police have not released her identity but did manage to report that she has a facial injury. The taxi driver, Yugo Gomez, had only minor injuries and has not been held on any charges. Policed have cited the truck driver for parking on the Long Island Expressway Service Road. Early in the morning at about six-forty, a man was driving his automobile in Suffolk County. The twenty-five-year-old man was driving south on 3rd Avenue when he went through a red light. His Saturn vehicle then hit the Soffolk Transportation bus that was driving west on Union Boulevard.

Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash except for the female driver. The drivers of both vehicles, whose names have not been released, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The driver of the bus did not suffer any injury and was released from the hospital. The driver of the Saturn was in grave condition.

A two-vehicle car accident occurred on April 15, 2009. The crash happened in Bethpage, New York.

On Wednesday, Tita Portillo, 37, was driving along the Bethpage State Parkway at four-thirty p.m. As she was on the road going northbound, her 1994 Toyota Corolla switched over into the south lane and hit another vehicle. Portillo, 37, crashed head-on with a 2008 Honda CRV. The Honda was being driven by William Brigante, 52, of Bothpage.

After the accident, Brigante was taken by air to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. There, he suffered major injuries.

A car accident occurred on Friday June 12, 2009. The accident happened in Ozone Park, New York.

At around nine thirty on the night of the incident, a man was driving his vehicle northbound. As he was driving, he allegedly hit a young child and then fled the scene. The accident took place on Rockaway Boulevard near 85th Street.

The infant hit was only two-years old. Police believe that the girl had gotten out of a house one way or another and walked into the street. The house was located on 85th Street.
