A transit cop has been arrested and suspended after driving the wrong way on a Brooklyn street and hitting a bicyclist, according to a New York Injury Lawyer.
The 42-year-old transit officer, who was a 19-year veteran of the force, was charged with assault, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident that caused the biker severe bleeding, broke his tooth and his nose, sources told a New York Car Accident Lawyer.
The transit officer and his partner were driving north in the southbound lane of Jay St, on June 16, 2010, their siren wailing and their lights flashing. Sources have told New York Injury Lawyers that there was no apparent emergency. The speeding patrol car ran right into a bicyclist who had to get stitches for his mouth and nose.
