A 25-year-old NYPD copy who crashed on a Queens highway is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time, according to a New York Injury Lawyer.
The officer from Brooklyn’s 76th Precinct was allegedly drunk when he crashed his 2001 Honda Accord into a guardrail late one night, says a New York Car Accident Lawyer.
The officer was picked up by highway police at about 10:45 p.m. close to Cross Bay Blvd., located in the vicinity of Howard Beach. New York Injury Lawyers have learned the officer was treated for head trauma at Jamaica Hospital, where it was determined that his injuries did not threaten his life.
Currently, the officer has not yet been arraigned and awaits a hearing with the Queens Criminal Court. New York Car Accident Lawyers are following the case closely until the case is finally resolved.
New York Injury Lawyers have learned from a spokeswoman for the Queens District Attorney that the officer is likely going to be charged with the operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating substances.
The charge the officer faces could end with him spending up to a year behind bars. New York Car Accident Lawyers have learned the officer has already been suspended without pay.
