An East Hills man has been arraigned in the hit-and-run death of an 81-year-old Roslyn Height woman. Police sources tell New York Injury Lawyers he claims to have seen the woman, but could not avoid hitting her. The 26-year-old man is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a death, which is a felony. He was also charged with a traffic violation, leaving the scene of an incident without a report.

New Your Car Accident Lawyers have learned prosecutors claim the driver hit the 81-year-old woman and continued driving without calling authorities. He was driving a tan 2001 Cherokee east on Warner Avenue when he “saw a woman, could not avoid her, and heard a ‘thud’ in front of his car.” The woman was only a few blocks from her home.

The 81-year-old woman walked with a cane and was thrown at least 75 feet by the impact. She was pronounced dead on the scene, homicide detectives told New York Injury Lawyers. The driver of the car was arrested when he took his car to a Queens body shop for repairs. Someone called the Nassau police department tip line, according to a New York Car Accident Lawyer.

The family of a deceased Suffolk County police officer recently unveiled signs that officially named an intersection after the officer, reports a New York Injury Lawyer. The intersection at Vanderbilt Motor Parkway and Commack Road is where the 22-year police veteran was killed on February 22, 2009, while he was responding to a call for assistance from another officer. His car was hit by an alleged drunken driver.

As dozens of officers stood at attention, the Suffolk County Police Pipes and Drums Emerald Society played “God Bless America” and “Amazing Grace” during the ceremony. A Suffolk legislator declared to a New York Personal Injury Lawyer the signs would do more than remind others of a police officer who lost his life protecting the public. They are also signs that remind others of the dangers of driving drunk.

The wife of the slain officer agreed. “I hope these signs will be a lesson to be learned,” she told a New York Car Accident Laywer. She continued on to say that her husband’s death “still affects so many people”. The officer’s family will go next to Albany, then to Washington D.C. for memorial services held for officers killed in the line of duty.

Former President Bill Clinton was recently involved in a fender bender, when his van was rear-ended in Connecticut, while he was traveling to give a commencement address at Yale, according to a New York Car Accident Lawyer.

A car following the Clinton motorcade ran into the van, which was moving slowly due to traffic congestion on the Merritt Parkway, said a New York Car Accident Lawyer. “Everybody in the lane slowed down, and we all slowed down, and one person didn’t,” Clinton said. “It happened to be the person behind us.” New York Personal Injury Lawyers have determined that no one was injured in the accident.

Clinton went on to give his speech to the graduates of the Ivy League school, making anti-technology remarks similar to those given by President Obama at Hampton University two weeks prior, sources reported to a New York Personal Injury Lawyer. “One problem we have in the modern world is we’ve got access to more information than ever before, but we don’t all listen to the same information,” Clinton said. He went on to say that the world “is too unstable, it is too unequal, and it is completely unsustainable.”

A contractor stopped a red light heard a startlingly noise, like a “big bang”. He turned to see a speeding Toyota with two teenage girls screaming as they clung to the hood of the car, which had just struck them. Two other girls were lying on the pavement, bleeding. The Upper Brookville contractor, 45, sped after the fleeing car to stop it.

Nassau police sources told a New York Car Accident Lawyer that the contractor chased the hit-and-run driver through rush hour Wednesday evening traffic for about a mile, from the intersection of Glen Cove and Old Country roads, finally stopping him at Clinton Road and Osborne Road. The girls, all 16-years-old, and friends at Herricks High School in Hyde Park, had been returning from a trip to the mall when they were struck hard enough to smash the windshield, police informed a New York Personal Injury Lawyer.

One girl needed more than 100 stitches to her head, police informed a New York Car Accident Lawyer. All of them were taken to hospitals and expected to survive. The girls were headed to catch a bus when the Toyota ran a red light and struck them in the crosswalk, where they had the right of way. The contractor, in his own vehicle, chased down the Toyota and pulled the 26-year-old driver out, holding him for the police. Police told a New York Personal Injury Lawyer the Toyota “hit all four of these girls with such force that he sent two of them flying onto the sidewalk and the other two were clinging for their lives on the hood of this car.”

A woman backing out of her driveway during the early morning hours in Deer Park mistakenly pressed the accelerator pedal rather than the brake , and crashed her vehicle into the house of a neighbor, according to a New York Car Accident Lawyer.

No injuries were suffered in the incident, which occurred on Scott Avenue at approximately 6:40 a.m., police told a New York Car Accident Lawyer. The police arrived in response to an original report which stated that the driver had left the scene of an accident.

A witness at the scene mistakenly took a jogger on the same block to be the driver of the car running away from the scene of the accident, a spokeswoman for the police, stated to a New York Injury Lawyer. It was determined when the police arrived that the driver of the car had not, in fact, left the scene. Her name is being withheld by the police at this time and no further details are currently available.

Details remain unclear on the circumstances of an early morning June 29th accident that killed a 23-year-old resident of Deer Park. Third Precinct officers and fighter fighters told New York Injury Lawyers they arrived on the scene near Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip to find a block-long field of shattered glass and plastic, and a sedan smashed to the point of being nearly unrecognizable, both the hood and the roof torn off. A utility pole, snapped in half with the top still dangling from the wires above, indicated the point where the car went of the road and shot down the sidewalk.

The victim was trapped inside the front passenger seat of the overturned car, according to a New York Injury Lawyer. Another young woman in the car at the time, 21, was found outside the car and spoke with officers before she was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan, sources told a New York Car Accident Lawyer. Detectives have been unable to confirm who was driving the 1995 Lincoln Town Car when the single car crash occurred. They do not believe, however, that there was a third person in the vehicle. Since the victim was wearing a seat belt, she could not have been the driver.

The police are still looking for witnesses to shed further light on details of the crash. New York Car Accident Lawyers have determined the survivor is not confirmed to have been the driver of the vehicle, though the car was owned by one of her relatives. The exact ownership of the car is still under investigation. Police declined to state if the survivor made any comments following the crash. The family of the survivor has not returned calls from reporters.
