Five teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene and one who was flown to Royal Adelaid Hospital later died from head injuries. Seven other teenagers were listed as stable but in critical condition. All of this after the victims left a sweet-16 party walking along Myall Road. New York Car Accident Lawyers may need to investigate the accident as it is appears a car allegedly came speeding around a bend, hit a pit of gravel and lost control of the car before striking the group of teenagers. Steve Bilkis and Associates can be reached at 1 800 NYNY LAW for an initial, free, no-obligation consultation if need be.

Apparently the driver of the auto, a 34-year-old man, fled the scene on foot, leaving his own ten-year-old daughter and four-year-old son in the car. The driver was later arrested and taken in for questioning. The driver has been charged with six charges of culpable driving causing death, four charges of negligently causing serious injury, one charge of failing to stop and one charge of failing to render assistance after an accident. There was no charge of drug possession. A New York Injury Lawyer can hopefully iron out more details regarding why the driver may have fled. A judge remanded the driver to custody and set a date for him to re-appear in court in June. Hopefully by that time, New York Car Accident Lawyers will have had an opportunity to look through the case thoroughly.

Stephen Bilkis & Associates with its New York Car Accident Lawyers has convenient locations throughout the NY area including Vinegar Hill, NY. Our attorneys can provide you with advice about personal injury caused by someone else’s negligence. Without a NY Car Accident Lawyer you will not know your rights and will be at a disadvantage.

While the world has stood up and taken notice of the danger of talking or texting while driving, New York Car Accident Lawyers report that digital billboards may be just as dangerous. This is not just an issue of cellphones but digital dashboards and roadside billboards are definitely grabbing the attention of driver’s and thus the attention of New York Car Accident Lawyers as well.

The billboard change the picture every six to eight seconds so advertisers can flash their message with the latest headlines to as many drivers as possible. The billboard industry declines to discuss that these billboards may be responsible for man car accidents. Steve Bilkis and Associates and his New York Injury Lawyers can be reached for more information about the matter at 1-800-NY-NY LAW.

Critics of the billboards call them “television on a stick” and insist that the billboards give drivers who are already talking or texting one more distraction. Some studies even go as far a to say that the billboards are more dangerous than cellphones. The thought process here is that the cellphones can be turned off but the billboard gets the attention of the driver making the billboards much more dangerous. There was no charge of drug possession in the incident.

The owner of the car that hit two young women in Brooklyn on Sunday, leaving one of them brain-dead, said through her lawyer on Tuesday that her sister was driving it when the accident occurred, the police said.

In speaking with detectives at his Manhattan office, the lawyer, Adam Thompson, said Frances Jasmin, the sister of the car’s owner, Cindy Jasmin, was hospitalized after the crash because of psychological distress, the officials said.

Late on Tuesday, however, the matter was still being investigated as detectives sought “to determine whether her story checks out regarding her sister,” said Paul J. Browne, a Police Department spokesman.
