Shami Chaikin, a 78 year old Manhattan NY resident, was riding her mobile scooter in the designated bike lane in Greenwich Village when a garbage truck. Chaikin was known to ride her mobility scooter around the city. Ke Hai Du was standing in a parking spot when he got into an altercation with a man who wanted the spot. Syosset’s resident Nancy Adler 55 years old of Mesa Road in Syosset was killed making a left at the intersection of Luddington Road and Merrick Avenue in East Meadow after a car containing three teenagers slammed into her. What started as a simple car accident turned into a fatal accident on Sunrise Highway in Seaford, NY. A BMW had rear ended a Nissan near Washington Avenue and Sunrise Highway. None of the passengers in the cars suffered injury during the accident and both cars pulled over to the side of the road. The driver of the BMW then walked across the street and turned around to come back when he was struck by a passing Kia SUV. The passengers of the Nissan that was rear ended declined medical treatment. An elderly woman had been trying to cross the street at Lexington Avenue between 76th and 77th Street when a van struck her. An out of control automobile caused an accident on a Queens bus stop in Douglaston, NY. Queens County Police reported that a young man driving in the rain tried to pass another car when his own vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into a bus stop.
